Architecture tours – An introduction to Tallinn’s Soviet architecture

Architecture tours support language-learning and are designed for adult students of Estonian who speak another language as their mother tongue and who are interested in architecture.

The tours showcase local architecture in Estonian and are led by guides. Those taking the tours have the chance not only to learn more about architecture but also to hone their Estonian skills. 

This tour showcases the pearls of Soviet architecture in the Estonian capital. Tours taking in new sites will be run on 22 October and 19 November. 

Recommended language level: B1 + 

Time: September 9th from 10:00 to 12:00 

Where: Meet at 10:00 in front of the academic library of Tallinn University (Rävala pst 10) 

Number of participants: up to 15 people

Advance registration is required. Registration will close as soon as places on the tour are filled or on September 7th at the latest. If you need to cancel, please e-mail [email protected].  

Health safety: In organising language courses, Estonian Language Houses are guided by the current requirements put in place to stop the spread of coronavirus. Only people who have been vaccinated, recovered from COVID-19, or presented a negative test result can take part in events.  

The certificates of all attendants will be checked at the entrance, please bring your identity document with you as well.  

The certificate can be submitted in both paper and digital form (eg from smartphone).  

There is no on-site testing available.
