Newly arrived immigrant
A newly arrived immigrant is an adult (aged 18 or over) who has lived in Estonia for less than five years on the basis of a residence permit or right of residence.
Newly arrived immigrants can participate in our activities within five years after receiving the first residence permit or the temporary right of residence of a citizen of the European Union.
Examples of newly arrived immigrants:
- a foreigner who has been granted a temporary residence permit as a conventional migrant or as a beneficiary of temporary protection or international protection;
- a citizen of the European Union who has been granted temporary right of residence;
- a family member of a citizen of the European Union who has been granted temporary right of residence.
