Citizenship applicants

A citizenship applicant is a foreigner aged 15 or over who has lived in Estonia on the basis of a residence permit or right of residence and who wishes to acquire Estonian citizenship and meets the requirements for obtaining citizenship.
We offer free courses to help you learn Estonian at level B1, which is required for applying for citizenship.For this purpose, we conclude a language learning agreement with residents interested in acquiring Estonian citizenship, allowing them to study Estonian free of charge up to level B1 (covering levels A1, A2, and B1).
